Alien 3 highlighted the bleak and unforgiving world of the Alien franchise by placing Ellen Ripley as the sole survivor after crashing on Fiorina 161. If encountering a Xenomorph for the third time is bad enough, the planet is a correctional facility where the worst of the worst reside which means not even our heroine is safe from the humans.

One of them is Junior, who attempts to sexually assault Ripley during the middle of the film and is only stopped by the prisoners' leader, Dillon. Though the character disappears in the theatrical version, he plays a larger role in Alien 3's Assembly Cut.

During the initial plan to trap the beast in the waste vault, the creature wreaks havoc which causes a huge fire. In the chaos, Ripley manages to rescue a handful of prisoners including Junior. But when caught between the Alien and the vault, Junior sacrifices himself to ensure that the Alien gets trapped despite Ripley's attempt to aid the prisoner. He succeeds in doing so but dies in the process.

Junior's sacrifice turned Ripley's plan into a success. Though the creature would be freed later on, the death of the young inmate allowed our heroes to take a break from the chaos.
