10 Best Horror Movies That Take Place On A Train
5. End Of The Line - 2007
End Of The Line is a sadly under-seen Canadian horror deserving more attention.
Karen is a nurse who is returning home from a very bad shift on a late train when her subway stops and a group of religious zealots, at a signal from their charismatic and popular leader, begin playing their part in stopping the apocalypse. Their role, in short, is to kill any human they can so that the demons they believe are about to overrun Earth have no souls to claim.
Karen becomes a reluctant leader, escaping with a group of passengers and starting a game of survival, wits, and will in the seemingly endless tunnels and control rooms of the subway system.
The film pulls no punches when its gory violence starts, sometimes pushing limits that even horror buffs accept, including one of the most taboo acts in horror, killing children. Once Karen's survivors equip themselves with weapons to counter the 'holy' daggers of the cultists, the film becomes one not for the faint of stomach.
The movie plays with concepts of faith and cults of personality and takes an interesting view of how easily good people can be swayed into committing horrible acts in the name of religion. There's no clear ending, but there's enough substance in the film for you to form your own opinion of what happens.
If you're a horror fan, you owe yourself a viewing of this indie gem.
