10 Best Horror Movies With A Supernatural Twist Ending

Takashi Miike's horror masterpiece Imprint began life as an episode of the anthology series Masters of Horror. But it was so disturbing and controversial that it was pulled from TV. Of course, for us horror sickos, that's a better advertisement than 100 billboards.

Part of what makes Imprint so damn vile is the shocking supernatural twist which takes the already horrible project to the next level.

The film follows an American tourist who visits a Japanese brothel in search of his long-lost love. There, he encounters a mysterious woman with a facial deformity, and the two spend the night talking. She just so happens to have known his lost girlfriend and recounts the abysmal fate that befell her. However, her narration seems wholly unreliable as her story keeps changing.

Well, after some twists and turns, you find out this mysterious lady has a parasitic twin living on her head that forces her to do bad things, making her a Japanese Yokai known as a Futakuchi-onna. Oh my!

This reveal comes out of nowhere and throws the whole movie upside-down, in the best possible way. There's stranger danger, and then there's accidentally encountering a two-mouthed folkloric monster. Maybe brothel islands aren't the place to find love; who could have guessed?
