5. "Let The Wookie Win" - Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
The original trilogy is filled with moments similar to the iconic space chess scene from A New Hope - scenes that could have easily been cut out from a storytelling perspective, doing nothing to enhance the plot. However, they go a long way in endearing the characters to the audience and building the feel of a real world. In the scene profiled here we get to know a lot about the supporting characters of Star Wars. We again recognize Chewie's potential for explosive rage, not to mention gain an acute understanding of Threepio's desire to avoid conflict. This comes through Anthony Daniels' expressive physical performance, and when he urges R2-D2 to simply "let the Wookie win."
