Like Vulture, Yondu oozes "cool dad" charisma. Also like Vulture, you can tell that Yondu has been places and done things - all unsavory, of course - and you know you'll get some wild stories. It'd be like drinking with your chummy, ex-convict uncle who has no intention of reforming himself: you know he's got stories, and you know what he's about, but you know he'd never hurt you. He just wants to hang out, show you a good time, and catch up on the time he lost while he was in the can.

Unlike Vulture, however, Yondu probably wouldn't be responsible with his drinking, or with his ensuing antics. But hey, that's part of the fun, right? If you were to get sloshed with Yondu, you KNOW you could probably talk him into letting you use his yaka arrow. How effectively is another conversation entirely. Think of the mischief you could get into together.
