10 Best MCU Movie Endings (So Far)
9. Doctor Strange
It was a long wait, but in 2016, Doctor Strange finally made his debut appearance in the MCU. 12 years after being name-dropped by J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man 2, and two since Jasper Sitwell uttered his name in The Winter Soldier, the Sorcerer Supreme was brought to life by Benedict Cumberbatch for the character's big-screen debut.
Though the movie itself somewhat followed a similar path to that of Iron Man, with the egotistical playboy going through a life-changing experience and finding something bigger to fight for, it separated itself with its completely unique, psychedelic style. This was particularly the case with the movie's conclusion.
The good doctor's final battle with the ruler of the Dark Dimension, Dormammu, not only required Strange to use his brain rather than brawn, it allowed the Time Stone to be the star of the show. Something that was necessary to put across before it became such a huge part of Infinity War and Endgame.
The visual effects throughout the entire movie are stunning, however the final battle is where the team truly earned their Oscar nomination. It is an epic finale to a great movie, and features classic Marvel Studios humour as Doctor Strange is killed over and over again.
