10 Best Movie Scenes Where People Talk To Themselves

6. Reservoir Dogs

Reservoir Dogs Tim Roth Tim Roth's Mr. Orange has a tough job. Not only does he have to be a cop, he has to be an undercover cop, and as we learn in the first film from director Quentin Tarantino, to be a good undercover cop, you gotta be like Brando. Roth repeatedly practices a monologue, a tale of a near run-in with narcotics officers in a restroom, in order to further sell his story as being a criminal lowlife. He pulls it off, getting a laugh from the seasoned hoodlums who revel in his story of nearly being arrested at the hands of a drug-sniffing dog. But his real performance is in the mirror before the heist goes off. He gives himself one last pep talk, re-assuring himself that the other criminals don't suspect him. "You're f***ing Barretta. They believe every f***ing word because you're super cool." And as for Mr. White, this is true until the final moments of the film.
