5. Raiders of the Lost Ark
There was a time not that long ago when the world considered Indiana Jones to be one of the greatest heroes not only in cinema, but in the history of the world. And despite incidents involving Crystal Skulls, Shia LeBeouf and a nuclear explosion made survivable by a refrigerator, Indie is still a true movie icon. He's tough. He's smart. He gets ladies like Karen Allen in her prime, and has college co-eds batting their eyes at him. He captured the golden idol, evading tumbling rocks and walls that shot arrows at him. In fact, he really has only one weakness: snakes. When our hero finds himself at the mouth of the Well of Souls, he sees it's full of asps. When he says "why'd it have to be snakes", despite being alongside Sallah, he is talking to himself, cursing his wretched luck at having to face hundreds of his most feared nemesis.
