10 Best Movies About Unrealised Dreams

8. Stuck On You

Apollo 13 Feat 2

Stuck On You is a charming comedy starring Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear as conjoined twins who each want different things. The sociable Walt dreams of being a big Hollywood actor, but the quieter Bob wants nothing to do with that, instead preferring to keep his head down and lead a simple life.

These vastly different desires cause conflict between the two, and when Walt eventually makes his way to Hollywood, things prove difficult. The men struggle to develop romantic connections with other people, and Walt can't find any work. Things do start to look up when Walt lands a part on a hit TV show called Honey and the Beaze, but it doesn't last: the show is cancelled, Bob and Walt are surgically separated and start to miss each other, and they both move back to their small-town lives.

But despite the fact that Walt's dream of becoming a huge acting success never comes to pass, the ending of the movie isn't presented in a negative way.

This makes Stuck On You similar to Apollo 13, in the sense that its characters end the movie being happy and comfortable, even though their dreams proved unattainable. Walt and Bob wear velcro clothes so they can be joined together while they work, and by all accounts, both characters are in a better place than they were at the start.
