6. "What Are You Going To Do When You're Not Saving The World?" - Man Of Steel
John William's iconic theme for the Superman of the '70s is one of his best and most popular, and though the cue was acknowledged in Bryan Singer's ill-fated semi-continuation Superman Returns back in 2006, this year's Superman reboot could mean only one things: a brand new theme. The task was assigned to Hans Zimmer, who seems to have become everyone's everyone's favourite composer in the wake of Inception. Thankfully, there were less BRAMS! inherent to Zimmer's Man of Steel score than we were all probably expecting (even Zimmer himself admitted he's sick of hearing them in every single movie trailer). Though Man of Steel received mostly mixed reviews from both fans and critics alike, praise did go to Zimmer's epic, somewhat bombastic score, and especially to what might now be regarded as the new Superman theme (summarised here by the track "What Are You Going To Do When You're Not Saving The World?"). Hearing this for the first time was pretty goosebump-giving, right?
