10 Best Performances In Harry Potter
3. Daniel Radcliffe - Harry Potter
Between The Philosopher’s Stone and The Deathly Hallows, Rowling’s titular character went on a considerable journey, and as such, it was essential that whoever played Harry could pull off such an evolution.
Thankfully, Daniel Radcliffe was the perfect choice to play Harry. Despite not having the green eyes or the untidy black hair of Rowling’s famous young wizard, Radcliffe still managed to embody the essence of Harry.
Indeed, his performance became particularly noticeable in the third movie. Due to its darker tone and story, The Prisoner of Azkaban allowed Radcliffe to showcase a more varied spectrum of emotion, the best of which could be seen in his interactions with Sirius Black in the latter stages of the film.
Whilst some fans criticised Harry for being a slightly bland protagonist, this often had more to do with the trimming of the source material than Radcliffe’s performance. In fact, whenever Radcliffe was given the opportunity to show the more entertaining side of Harry (such as when he led Dumbledore’s Army or when he took Felix Felicis), his acting was always on point.
Even though Harry was not the most distinctive personality in the series, Radcliffe continuously improved as the series progressed and was always able to meet the challenges of such a huge and layered role.
