It may be a cliché, but ignore the critics on this one. Delirium rules.

After being released from a twenty year stay at a mental hospital, Tom is placed under house arrest in his recently deceased father's mansion. All seems normal at first, but as the days go by Tom senses that he might not be as alone as he thought he was.

This is probably the most traditional psychological thriller on this list in terms of structure and story. Don't let that deter you though because it makes up for those aspects with really well done character writing.

Tom is good guy who just so happened to be an unwilling witness to a savage act that left him traumatized. The fact that he is so likeable and easy to connect with makes the psychological stuff all the more engaging, as you'll find yourself having his best interests in mind.

Delirium is simple in both concept and execution, but it's that simplicity that works in its favor, making for an underrated psychological thriller that is very much worth your time.
