10 Best Serial Killers In Movies

5. Leatherface - Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre first saw a release back in 1974 and has since inspired several pale imitations, sub-genres and bland, uninspired sequels.

The film has been regarded as one of the greatest horror movies of all time and the initial criticism it received has since turned into fulsome praise as it has allowed the horror genre to move forward and explore maturer themes.

However, the standout of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, was the serial killer in the film, Leatherface. Armed with his titular chainsaw, Leatherface is shown to be strong, quick and nimble, he exacts his particular industrial equipment based brutality on an unsuspecting group of friends as they are slowly picked off one by one in increasingly disgusting ways.

Leatherface's family is also up for debate as well, as they have killed multiple people over the years, fashioning bits of furniture out of the remains of their victims and even serving them up for dinner.

The end of the original film does allow some brief catharsis as Sally, the last remaining survivor, escapes by the skin of her teeth from the deranged killer.

It's maybe not enough to make up for the horrible ordeal that audiences had watching it, but it did show that Leatherface was not invincible and the setting made it even more creepy than the last.

Probably best to avoid Christmas Dinner at the Leatherface's though.
