3. Shuri (Black Panther)
T'Challa may be the eponymous hero of the film but Shuri comes dangerously close to stealing the film out from under him. Serving as her brother's primary weapons tech guru, ala Q from 007, Shuri is the smartest and most advanced mind in the MCU. She's served as the primary creator of most of Wakanda's futuristic tech, including the updated Black Panther suit.
She's also the only reason that characters like Bucky, Ross, or even T'Challa are still alive. She regularly saves people from life-threatening injuries and never makes a big deal about it. She is young and ambitious with the skills and know-how to back it up.
But she is more than just a smart mind, she also is more than willing to get in on the fight. Whether she's serving as a driver in a high-speed chase from continents away or suiting up to fight Killmonger on her own, she's constantly prepared and ready to more than hold her own.
Plus, she nonchalantly calls Martin Freeman a colonizer and it is wonderful. Bonus points to Shuri for being one of the most well-rounded and fascinating characters the MCU has. Here's to seeing lots, lots more of her in the future.
