10 Best Superhero Films Of The 2010s

9. Wonder Woman (2017)

Wonder Woman

The DCEU was in a rough state by 2017. It didn't get off to the best start with Man of Steel and its attempt to make a dark and gritty reboot of Superman. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad followed and stank up cinema screens across the globe. People had just about given up on the franchise before it really got started.

Enter Wonder Woman, the film that singlehandedly brought DC back into everyone's good graces with an origin story that worked, and solidifying Gal Gadot as the definitive live-action Diana Prince on the big screen.

Diana's story is told from childhood, as she's kept on the hidden island of Themyscira until she learns of The Great War and decides to fight for the good of mankind alongside Steve Trevor to find the God of War Ares and put an end to mankind's hate.

A well crafted story, Wonder Woman doesn't shy away from the horrors of what actually went on in the trenches and brought us the most mature DCEU movie to date.
