The Movie: DC's big versus-cum-team-up, Batman V Superman is the Distinguished Competition's attempt to kickstart a Cinematic Universe to rival Marvel's by throwing in Batman and the rest of the Justice League into the Man Of Steel sequel. And it's had quite a journey to the big screen. Original Release Date: 17th July 2015 Second Release Date: 6th May 2016 Final Release Date: 25th March 2016 Why Did It Change: Warner Bros. initially set a Summer 2015 release date for Man Of Steel 2 in a rush to get their shared universe back on track, but overestimating the sheer time needed to get the movie ready saw it pushed back to 2016. And here's where it got interesting. The film was set for May 6th, the same day as what was then known as Captain America 3, which for some reason worried the studio so much they put it in the competition-free March, one of the earliest starts of blockbuster season ever. What scared Warner so much? Well, a few months later Marvel announced the Cap threequel was subtitled Civil War. Were any more 2016 movies meant to come out in 2016?
