10 Big 2017 Movies Destined To Flop
1. Monster Trucks
Sadly for the people behind Monster Trucks, it’s not a case of if it bombs, but how badly. Paramount have already taken a $115 million writedown on it, and it’s been delayed several times despite being finished in 2014.
The studio clearly went into the movie thinking of the sweet merchandise money, but the trailer reveals their approach to be insanely ill-judged. The story has a teenager building a monster truck, only to find it has a literal monster inside it. They team up to have adventures while the government chases after the horrid looking thing.
It looks garish and cheap despite the generous budget, and reaction to the various trailers has the studio understandably nervous. Lucas Till is hardly a box-office powerhouse either, so this one has the classic hallmarks of a monster (sorry) flop.
