Titanic is world renowned for it's true to life telling of the disaster of 1909, with James Cameron directing the release in 1997. The film starred many famous faces, including Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet as the romantic starring roles. However, all may not have been as smooth in the making, with problems and near death experiences around every corner.

During production, over eighty members of cast and crew alike enjoyed a meal of clam chowder one day, only to all start to fall ill after the meal had been poisoned with PCP, a drug used for mind altering and can cause severe effects such as hallucinations and paranoia.

Production was halted as each severally ill member had to be transported to nearby hospitals to be treated before it was too late. The catering company in charge of the feed denied all allegations, and the case was closed as no specific member of the cast or crew was targeted.

Not only did this occur, but in the final scenes filmed for the movie in which Jack and Rose cling on to each other in the freezing sea (there was room for them both on that photograph!), actress Kate Winslet suffered mild pneumonia after refusing to wear under garments for her costume, leaving her exposed in the water for the duration of the shoot and causing her to become ill.
