10 Biggest Marvel Studios Mistakes

4. Captain America's Defrosting

This is one of those things which comic book fans were really excited to see up on the big screen. In the comic books, Captain America's frozen body was discovered by The Avengers. It was clear by the end of Captain America: The First Avenger, however, that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would handle the whole thing a little differently. Waking up in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody in the present day, it was obvious that movie wasn't going to deal with his "defrosting". As a result, it was left up to The Avengers to deal with Steve Rogers' arrival in the modern day, something the movie dropped the ball on, barely even exploring Steve Roger's struggles. Kudos to Whedon for including it, but apart from a few throwaway references, the superhero ensemble failed to really delve into what it would be like to close your eyes in the '40s and wake up in 2012. Captain America: The Winter Solider briefly addressed it, but the ship has now sailed on this ever being fully explored.
