3. Beef With Actors
This one isn't entirely their fault, but it's a little worrying all the same to look at how many actors Marvel have fallen out with over the years. Their most high profile loss was Edward Norton. A difficult production with the demanding actor led to him refusing to take part in promotion for The Incredible Hulk, and Bruce Banner was later recast. Next? Iron Man's Terrence Howard. Rather than giving him a pay rise after the success of that movie, the studio replaced him with Don Cheadle. Years later, a damning report from the FT claimed that Marvel boss Ike Perlmutter - who is notoriously cheap - was more than happy to recast because black people "look the same". Seriously! Mickey Rourke was another, and he's had nothing but bad things to say about Marvel since Iron Man 2. Their biggest error came when plans for Captain America: Civil War started being made. Ike apparently didn't want to fork out for Robert Downey Jr. to play Tony Stark in the movie, a situation Kevin Feige thankfully smoothed over.
