5. Game Of Thrones' Neil Marshall Directing Constantine Pilot
DC may be getting flack for taking its time with its comic book characters on the big screen, but they've definitely been making waves on television, thanks to the success of Arrow, and are moving forward with several new shows including The Flash, iZombie, and Hourman on the CW, A Gordon-centric Gotham on FOX, and Constantine on NBC. Constantine, developed by David S. Goyer and The Mentalist producer Daniel Cerone, recently received a pilot order from the network, which has just found its director. Neil Marshall, who directed Blackwater, the ninth episode of Game of Thrones' second season, and the pilot of Starz's new show Black Sails, has been tapped to helm the Constantine pilot. Marshall has proven himself as a capable television director, able to make the small screen as exciting as the silver screen, so it will be great to see what he does with a character as interesting and potentially exciting as John Constantine. He also directed The Descent, so we know he has the chops for horror, so if all goes well, this could prove a great success for DC on TV.
