8. NBC Developing Wolfman TV Series

The Wolfman In the last year or so we've seen a bit of a resurgence when it comes to adapting classic movie monsters. In fact, one of NBC's biggest assets is their collection of beloved creatures that include Frankenstein's monster, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Dracula, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and The Creature From the Black Lagoon. Though we're used to movie remakes by now, we've seen a few of these characters make the transition to the small screen recently, including Dracula (starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers), and now Dracula executive producer Daniel Knauf has set his sights on his next project: The Wolfman. The show will be based on the 2010 film starring Benicio del Toro and Anthony Hopkins (which was butchered critically and financially), and is described as "a supernatural thriller that explores what it means to be a man and to be human." Deadline reports that the show will center on Lawrence Talbot, who is afflicted by an ancient curse that taps into "the powerful, primordial soul of the alpha-predator." Knauf will serve as writer and executive producer, and there's no word yet on when it might start production or how closely it will really be "based" on the 2010 film.
