1. Robin Williams Has Passed Away At Age 63
The week began in tragedy, as reports came in on Monday that legendary actor and comedian Robin Williams had committed suicide at the age of 63. Williams had been battling severe depression following a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, said his publicist and wife after his passing. The Academy Award winner leaves behind an incredible and varied legacy, having shot to fame with the Happy Days spin-off Mork & Mindy. From there he won the hearts (and funny bones) of the world, and went on to do stand up comedy and appear in dozens of films, beginning with 1980's Popeye. Other roles include The World According to Garp, Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, The Fisher King, Hook, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, The Birdcage, Jack, Good Will Hunting, Insomnia, One Hour Photo, Patch Adams, World's Greatest Dad, Night at the Museum, and countless others. Williams was one of the most respected and beloved actors of our time, and he will be truly missed. Our deepest condolences go out to his wife and three children.
