2. David Fincher Reteaming With Gillian Flynn For Utopia On HBO

4. David Fincher David Fincher must have liked working with author Gillian Flynn; whose novel Gone Girl is the director's current project (which hits theaters this October). The two are set to reteam to adapt the UK thriller series Utopia for American audiences, which will air on HBO. Flynn will write the show and serve as executive producer alongside Fincher and Joshua Donen (House of Cards). Fincher will direct the show's pilot, and no episode count or premiere date has been announced, though HBO has already given it a series order. Fincher recently struck gold with his hit Netflix series House of Cards, so seeing him tackle another dark thriller for television is exciting to say the least. Here's the official synopsis, courtesy of HBO:
The die-hard fans of an iconic, underground graphic novel are suddenly launched into their own pop-culture thriller when they learn that the author has secretly written a sequel. Unfortunately, the new manuscript is much more than just a book and those on the hunt for it suddenly find themselves in a game of shifting loyalties, conspiracy and shocking twists as the true meaning of the book is slowly revealed.
