6. Marvel Planning Guardians Of The Galaxy Cartoon?
Marvel is moving full steam ahead, with two more films coming out this year in preparation for next year's Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron. First we'll be getting Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and then Marvels' riskiest project yet: Guardians of the Galaxy. The rag-tag group of intergalactic ex-cons aren't exactly well-known outside of comic book circles (and were barely known there as well until a film was announced), so the fim will be a bit of a hard sell to casual moviegoers. Luckily, Marvel has done a bang up job with making their brand a household name, so as long as the film looks good people will flock to theaters to see it. However, if new rumors prove true, we may be getting the Guardians on the small screen as well, since Marvel is supposedly working on an animated TV show for the characters. According to CBM, they have a "well placed source" that Marvel was weighing their options between Guardians or another Spider-Man cartoon, and opted for Guardians instead. It's easy to imagine how great a GOTG TV show could be, considering the science fiction backdrop and diverse blend of characters that would hold a lot of appeal for kids and adults alike. As of right now, we have no official confirmation of this news, but it makes sense that the studio would use an animated show to promote the film, or vice versa if the movie is successful.
