2. Has Doctor Who Showrunner Steven Moffat Been Offered A Star Wars Movie?
BBCThis piece of news just may break the internet, so buckle up. According to the website JediNews, Doctor Who and Sherlock writer and showrunner Steven Moffat may be heading to the galaxy far, far away. That's right, the guy who brought us Matt Smith's bowtie and Benedict Cumberbatch's deerstalker may have been offered a Star Wars movie. At this point in time it's unclear how true this rumor is, or what kind of role Moffat may have been offered. If true, he may be writing, producing, or even directing one of the unclaimed saga Episodes or spin-offs. As it stands right now, the franchise has been divied up to a few filmmakers. JJ Abrams is currently hard at work on Episode VII, Godzilla director Gareth Edwards will direct the first spin-off for 2016, Looper director Rian Johnson will write and direct Episode VIII, and Chronicle director Josh Trank will take the reins of the second spin-off for 2018. That leaves episode IX (which Johnson will also write) and the third spin-off, which is expected in 2020. What do you think? Should Moffat have his hand in the Star Wars universe, or should he stick to the small screen timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly stuff? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
