2. Colin Farrell And Vince Vaughn Confirmed For True Detective Season 2
After months of seemingly endless teases, rumors, and shortlists, part of the cast for HBO's highly-anticipated second season of True Detective has been announced. The series will focus on "three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder." Of the four leads, two have been officially unveiled: Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn. Ferrell will play one of the officers, Ray Velcoro, "a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him," while Vaughn will take on the role of Frank Semyon, "a career criminal in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner." After the official announcement, news broke that HBO has offered Rachel McAdams the female lead of the season. She's been in the running for the part for some time now, and has been in contention for the role with at least seven other actresses. The actress
reportedly has a scheduling conflict in the way of allowing a True Detective commitment, but she's likely to re-arrange her slate to make it work.
