6. Introducing Thanos And The Infinity Gauntlet Was All Joss Whedon's Idea
Thanos has been a lingering threat over the MCU since the end of The Avengers, yet his only real contribution so far has been sitting in a rocket boosted chair and grinning a lot. He will eventually play a major part in the saga, with Feige crediting Joss Whedon with the idea of using the character in the first place. Feige admits that using Thanos wasnt the original plan, but when Whedon suggested hed be the one behind the scenes of all the chaos it just made sense. It was also Whedons idea to include a scene with Thanos in Guardians Of The Galaxy, so the audience would finally get to see him in action. Well, inaction. With the introduction of a new master villain they needed to give him a subplot, and this is where The Infinity Gauntlet came in. The other magical MacGuffins were retconned to become Infinity Stones, and a new cosmic threat was born.
