10 Blockbusters From 2016 That Should Win Oscars (But Won't)

1. Sausage Party (Best Original Song - "The Great Beyond")

Kubo And The Two Strings Oscar
Sony Pictures

Why It Should Win: The opening song-and-dancer number "The Great Beyond" is a hilarious parody of the stereotypically upbeat type of song that so often opens animated movies, while perfectly cementing the movie's darker themes regarding the truth of what lies ahead for the anthropomorphic characters.

It's irreverent, like nothing else that's in competition, and if Fifty Shades of Grey can get nominated and Sam Smith's terrible Spectre song can actually win, why the hell can't this take the gold home?

Why It Won't: Again, La La Land is probably going to steal this one away, and if not that, then Moana and Sing Street both have a damn strong chance. For Sausage Party, the nomination will sadly have to count as the win.
