10 Brilliant Horror Movie Monsters You Were Completely Unprepared For

2. Amy - Fright Night

Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer
Columbia

1985's horror comedy classic Fright Night is such a stone cold classic of the sub genre that even its remake is a bloody good time. However, despite how fun and inventive this flick from Spiderman actor namesake/ horror director Tom Holland is, one thing that Fright Night isn't, is particularly scary.

For most of its runtime, anyway.

In both the original 1985 film and its underrated 2011 remake, viewers see the sort-of-lame vampire transformation of the film’s main villain first. In both cases, Colin Farrell and Chris Sarandon's bloodsucker make up is perfectly serviceable, but it would be a stretch to call the Nosferatu-lite fake teeth memorably terrifying.

However both iterations of the film soon blow away viewers with one last scare which leaves them properly horrified. After all, was anyone ready for the nightmarish toothy terror of our hero’s love interest?

A spunky teen crush for the rest of the flick, the film's denouement turns Amy into a terrifying nightmare of countless fangs and empty eyes. Utilizing a design rejected as "too scary" by the creators of Ghostbusters, this horror comedy ends up delivering on both counts thanks to this pant-s****ingly shocking monster.
