10 Campy Halloween Films To Enjoy This Season

9. Beetlejuice

Rocky Horror
Warner Bros.

Sinister, supernatural, but not too scary, Beetlejuice is another enjoyable classic out of Tim Burton's lineup that toes the line between fun and utterly disturbing.

It's iconic in its unique and memorable design and its titular villain, as well as the way he's summoned. Most people, even if they've never watched the actual film, know not to mention his name three times, in case he comes in with his black and white striped suit to torment those in the household. Michael Keaton does a fantastic job portraying the iconic, chaotic entity.

Not only is it iconic for the character, but it's also a heartwarming story, with a couple audiences see alive, then not so living, making friends with a lonely young girl when her dysfunctional family moves into the house, and they try to scare them away so that their home isn't invaded by outsiders (even if they are quite dead).

It's the kind of movie that is so tied to Halloween fun that it's shown on repeat in October at smaller theatres, and without the raunch, gore, and blood generally seen in other horror and Halloween films, is one most people can watch without issue.
