10 Cancelled Comic Book Movies That Sound Insanely Good

4. Tim Burton’s Catwoman

The end of Batman Returns was set up to tease the fact that we would eventually get more of Catwoman, and not in the form of the awful Halle Berry movie that followed some years later. And even with Tim Burton dropping out of the director's chair for Batman Forever, he was still set to direct the Catwoman spin-off that would also have followed.

A script was completed by summer 1995, just as Batman Forever hit cinemas in fact and that was its first error, because Forever's family-friendly success didn't exactly sit well with Catwoman's decidedly darker spirit.

The plot saw Catwoman suffering amnesia, having moved to Oasisville (essentially Batman's version of Las Vegas) - where she meets some terrible, flawed male superhero types that help her rediscover her Catwoman side. While that sounds a little iffy, seeing more of Pfeiffer's Catwoman would have been an utter joy.

Sadly, Pfeiffer said her priorities changed with the arrival of her first child, Burton had to drop out and the project was mangled through rewrites into the Halle Berry monstrosity.
