10 Characters Who Will Probably Die In 2020's Biggest Movies

The upcoming ninth instalment in the Saw franchise will undoubtedly contain a lot of gory death scenes, and the violent nature of these films means that it will be tough for the core cast to escape with their lives.

But if we had to mark one individual character for death, we're going with Samuel L. Jackson's Marcus, the father of Chris Rock's detective Zeke. While it might seem odd to kill off the biggest star in the movie, there are several reasons why this choice would work for this particular film and for this particular franchise.

For starters, it would be a massive shock for audiences because nobody will be expecting Marcus to die, and obviously, shock value in horror movies only enhances the experience - remember Jackson's surprise death in Deep Blue Sea? The Saw movies also have a lot of twists, and this would be another one to join that trend.

Additionally, the Saw franchise has proven that it doesn't need name talent to thrive. None of the movies have been driven by star power (Danny Glover appeared in the original, but it's not like his name was all over the marketing), and yet, they've continued to make money.

To that end, losing Jackson wouldn't really be a huge deal - in fact, not having to pay his salary would make any sequels much cheaper to produce.
