7. Bloodbath At The House Of Death (1983)

We start at Headstone Manor in 1975. It is being used as a camp for business men and schoolgirls. Satanic monks enter the building and kill 18 people. In 1983, two doctors (played by Kenny Everett and Pamela Stephenson) are sent to the manor, now known as the House of Death, to investigate radioactive activity. Several other doctors join in and they start putting up equipment. What they don't realise is that the Sinister Man (Vincent Price) a 700 year old spirit, wishes to purge them from the house. Satanic clones of the scientists begin entering the house and killing the originals. A really stupid ending with alien based nonsense occurs. And Pamela Stephenson has sex with a poltergeist. Probably best appreciated by Kenny Everett aficionadas, Bloodbath at the House of Death is a full on innuendo fest. Some of the humour sucks and alternately some of it is pitch black and manages to raise a few chortles. The film is definitely all the better for Vincent Price's appearance as the Sinister Man. Price is always good fun no matter how hammy or bombastic he gets. If you enjoy outrageous movie spoofs, then this is the film for you. Virtually every film there is gets parodied, including a pretty funny ET take on. It is a very British cup of tea that lurches between outright disaster to slivers of brilliance. It has found its spiritual home on The Horror Channel which frequently plays it.
