10 Classic X-Men Villains Perfect For The MCU

7. The Hellfire Club

A secret society comprised of wealthy, power-hungry members that influence wars and assassinations to further their own agendas, the Hellfire Club is frequently at odds with the X-Men. With dozens of members across the world, the MCU version of the Hellfire Club could impact the Avengers in a number of nefarious ways without necessarily involving the X-Men.

Hydra is — assumedly — finished, but what if there was a similar underground faction composed of mutants vying to take control of the world? Without venturing too much into the same territory as X-Men: First Class, the Hellfire Club would work well as a secret organization quietly influencing government policy behind closed doors.

Imagine the Hellfire Club working with Norman Osborn, helping him falsely establish the Thunderbolts as a legitimate team by staging conflicts. Two factions pursuing different endgames will surely create friction, possibly resulting in Osborn trying to even the odds by developing a serum that enhances his intelligence and strength... with a small side effect of insanity.
