10 Clever Ways Horror Movies Foreshadow the Ending

In the closing chapter of Ti West's X trilogy, adult star Maxine Minx has made her way to Hollywood, hoping to become the next big superstar. However, the titular character's aspersions are put on hold when private investigator John Labat starts stalking her. When Maxine confronts him, the sleazy PI threatens to expose her for the crimes she committed in X unless she does exactly what he says.
After being continuously tormented by Labat, Maxine ambushes him and traps him inside a car in a junkyard compressor. Despite his pleas for freedom, Maxine flips the switch, flatting Labat like a pancake.
Interestingly, Labat's crushing fate was hinted at on two occasions. When Labat speaks to Maxine for the first time, he references the murder she committed in X, saying that sort of burden would "crush him to pieces". And when Maxine's friend Elizabeth notices how unfocused she has been recently, she tells her to "squash" whatever troubles she has.
Elizabeth probably didn't expect to be taken so literally, but it was solid advice since Maxine's career took off after she grounded Labat into bits.
