Tagruato were the lynchpin of Cloverfield's ARG, so it seems only fitting they'd kick off 10 Cloverfield Lane's main viral marketing story. In late January, those who had participated in the original's campaign received an email from Tagruato Director of Public Relations and Employee of the Month: January 2016, Vanessa Gwon (from 18kagashimad@tagruato.jp):

This was really nothing more than an announcement that the game was once again afoot, although did have the added bonus of revealing that, despite unleashing a city destroying monster, Tagruato were still going (big business, huh?). Things weren't quiet for long. A couple of days later some people received an email from Dr. Feng Guangbiao (again from 18kagashimad@tagruato.jp). The content of the message was the same, but with one notable difference; Dr. Guangbiao was a Corporate Councel and had been named Employee of the Month: February 2016.
