10 Comic Book Characters That Movies Totally Butchered

8. Juggernaut (X-Men: The Last Stand)

X-Men: The Last Stand In the comics, Juggernaut was a total force to be reckoned with; he was Charles Xavier's half-brother, whose rage caused him to be immensely strong, capable of smashing through structures that no other man could. In Brett Ratner's misguided X-Men: The Last Stand, however, people became skeptical as soon as they heard that British hard-man Vinnie Jones was being cast in the role. Though Jones is a fine actor for a certain type of film - and I think you know which one - to put one of comic lore's most iconic characters in his trust, along with that of the screenwriter (and Ratner), seemed like quite a risk. The final result was a Juggernaut that didn't much resemble what we had all imagined in the comics; the British accent was distracting, as all I could think of was that this felt like Vinnie Jones playing Juggernaut rather than the character coming to life. Though his utterance of the famous meme, "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" raised a few laughs and his chase after Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) was exciting, on the whole it just felt like his character was a comic relief side-bar rather than a developed entity of itself.
