1. Heart of the Universe (Marvel)
We're now two movies in to Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Thanos is yet to get his hands on a single Infinity Stone so, despite the common assumptions of the fans, he might not actually end up with them all. If that turns out to be the case, he might have his eyes on other sources of power and one that he is very familiar with in the comic books is the incredibly powerful Heart of the Universe (also known as the Heart of the Infinite). The Heart of the Universe isn't exactly an object as such, it's more of a location and a source of infinite energy through which one can be "synchronized" with the "frequency" of the entire universe, becoming one with all aspects - living beings, matter, energy and even concepts and ideals. It essentially provides the user with total omnipotence. When Thanos merged with it in the comic books he claimed that he became the individual thoughts of each and every sentient being in the universe and "the last breath of a dying woman". Due to the Mad Titan's previous experience in accessing vast amounts of energy (such as that of the Cosmic Cube and the Infinity Gems in the comics) he was capable of directly merging with it. However, this isn't the case for everyone - one of Thanos' opponents, Akhenaten, was forced to use machinery to siphon energy from the Heart. If he was to access the Heart of the Universe in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thanos would be every bit as powerful as he or anyone else would be with the entire contents of the Infinity Stones at his or their disposal and the nature of the item would make it a very interesting sight on the big screen.
