9. Different Coloured Lantern Rings (DC)

The non-comic book fan has generally, at the very least, heard of the Green Lantern as an individual hero - but not everyone realises that it's a title given to many heroes who are all part of the same Corps. Even less people know that there are, in fact, several different coloured lanterns who wield rings harnessing the power of various aspects of the emotional spectrum. Green represents willpower, yellow represents fear, red represents rage, blue represents hope, indigo represents compassion, violet represents love, orange represents greed/avarice, black represents death and white represents life. Obviously we've already seen a green ring in action in the disappointing Ryan Reynolds movie, and the movie's ending gave us a brief glimpse of a yellow ring, but it's hard to deny that it was visually very impressive. With that in mind, there's no doubt that, with a good story, a movie of this nature could actually be very good and the vast array of characters that become available for a live action adaptation if other rings are introduced is almost limitless - there are hundreds. Who wouldn't want to see an epic, multi-coloured space battle involving several lantern armies? I know I would.
