10 Comic Book Movie Characters Who Were Screwed By Terrible Writing
4. Gambit (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
After Gambit was left out of the original trilogy, audiences were really hyped to finally see fan favorite Gambit on the big screen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Taylor Kitsch certainly looked the part as Remy Lebeau, but did the screenwriters ever actually read an X-Men comic before? The way they messed around with Gambit's powers was... odd and the choice to introduce him as an antagonist was handled poorly from start to finish. Then there's the accent... Others on this list may have been more obviously mistreated, but as one of the most popular X-Men characters, Gambit's portrayal on screen is particularly disappointing for the fans. Once again, the 90's X-Men cartoon is actually 1000 times better, despite using a much, much smaller budget. Let's just hope the rumors are wrong and Channing Tatum is not being considered for a new take on the character.
