10 Comic Book Movie Characters Who Face Uncertain On-Screen Futures
7. Foggy Nelson & Karen Page
Now, this is an odd one. We’ve already seen fellow Netflix Daredevil alumni Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio make their MCU debuts respectively within Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye.
And as well as this, Jon Bernthal is now confirmed to be making the jump from Netflix to Disney+, reprising his fan-favourite portrayal of The Punisher alongside both the formerly mentioned for Daredevil: Born Again.
However, amidst all the announcements and anticipation, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page are nowhere to be seen. The popular double act, expertly portrayed by Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll, is an incredibly unexpected and equally disappointing absence from the series slated to stream next year. The mainstays of Matt Murdock’s inner circle, both Foggy and Karen delivered laughs, heart and humanity within a crime-ridden and inhumane New York City for Netflix’s cancelled show.
It should be said that Henson and Woll aren’t the only notable absentees from the upcoming series, as Ayelet Zurer’s Vanessa and Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye are also missing from proceedings. But, since Foggy and Karen were ever-present figures within the show, it seems a missed opportunity to not have them return under new ownership.
Let’s get it right in that there is a chance, albeit slim, that the pair could’ve slipped through the cracks and are cards being held close to Kevin Feige’s chest. However, with the series already deep into production and the actors yet to be spotted, don’t count on it.
