10 Comic Book Movies Everyone Tried To Copy
1. Guardians Of The Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy is known as the one moment where the MCU started to get truly awesome. With a star-studded cast and some of the quickest comedic timing ever found in a comic book movie, the entire film bridged the gap of being a throwback to the fun-filled comic book movies while also feeling like a step forward for the genre. However, what ended up making each Guardian unique ended up being copied by a lot of different films down the line.
Rather than just look at its story, a lot of movies tried to take the atmosphere of Guardians and just copy and paste it onto their own material, with DC's Suicide Squad trying (and failing) to capitalize on the fun filled adventure aspect.
Aside from the visuals, the film's impeccable use of throwback pop and rock tunes ended up finding its way into other movies, with every soundtrack ending up sounding like a personal mixtape that was a little more radio friendly than a Tarantino soundtrack.
Even outside the realm of superhero movies, people are still trying to find ways of taking something as off-color as Guardians and making it palatable for just about anybody. Guardians is the perfect package of everything you'd want in a summer blockbuster, but given how many people want to steal from it, maybe it did its job a little too well.
