10 Comic Book Movies That Got MULTIPLE Characters Wrong

6. Batman & Robin

Out of all the Burton-verse Batman movies, 1997's Batman & Robin is the fourth best. Joel Schumacher had returned Bruce Wayne to his campy ways with Batman Forever. But with Burton still on board as a producer, the film was mostly respectable and didn't get too out of hand. That all changed with Burton stepping away and Schumacher facing tons of studio pressure to make toys.

First, we have Arnold Schwarzenegger getting top billing as Mr. Freeze. With a paycheck reportedly around $25 million, he must have been getting paid per pun. His dialog is cringe worthy with such gems as "Let's kick some ice!" and "You're not sending me to the cooler!". Literally every line is somehow etched with an ice pick. They may have taken his "Heart of Ice" backstory, but the character is far removed from calculated genius shown in the comics.

From there, we get an over-the-top Poison Ivy in Uma Thurman's worst role and far less lethal than she should be. We get a damn near 30-year-old Robin who is far too spoiled, bratty, and egotistical. And since Commissioner Gordon was never really a fleshed out character, Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl is now Alfred's family instead of Barbara Gordon. Worst of all is poor Bane, who instead of being a cunning and tactical threat, is basically reduced to glorified henchmen.

The only saving grace of the film is Michael Gough's Alfred Pennyworth, a character he portrayed perfectly through the four films.
