10 Comic Book Movies That Got MULTIPLE Characters Wrong
7. Constantine
Keanu Reeves post John Wick can do no wrong, pre-Wick and he's known as a wooden actor who should never attempt accents. His 2005 movie Constantine fell into the latter, however in hindsight, it's looked back at as a solid film though not a faithful adaptation. Let's get this out of the way first, who cares if John Constantine was blonde or not? Daniel Craig was an amazing brunette in James Bond right? Moving on...
Keanu's take on the popular Hellblazer character was much more noir and his setting was changed to LA from the UK (although, with what we know about his accents, its probably a good choice). Hair color aside, Constantine is supposed to have a bit more style and flair to go along with his bisexuality that was never expressed in the movie. Keanu also plays the character stoic with more bulldozing confidence than clever cockiness and wit. He also never should be carrying a "holy" shotgun.
Audiences were also unkind to Shia Labeouf as Chas Kramer. For one, what's with the name change from Chandler? Since Chas was not only supposed to be John's sidekick, he's also one of his oldest friends with the two meeting as teenagers, it's a little weird having the character be so much younger.
They switched up the angel Gabriel by casting the master of androgyny Tilda Swinton. But, don't you dare say a word against Peter Stomare as the best movie-version of the devil we've ever gotten.
