10 Completely Original Movies To Look Out For In 2019

Genuinely good child actors are a rare thing, but young Jacob Tremblay managed to dodge that stigma and deliver fantastic performances in Room, Wonder, and Before I Wake. But next up on the docket is something quite different from his usual dramatic fare: a Seth Rogen-produced comedy titled Good Boys, which sounds equal parts hilarious, charming, and absolutely bonkers.

The movie has been described as an R-rated romp in the vein of Rogen's Superbad, and will follow a group of kids on the cusp of becoming teenagers as they race across Los Angeles to fix a broken toy before their parents get home.

That idea sounds like it's bursting with comedic potential. There's something inherently endearing about these kids treating a simple broken toy like it's the end of the world, and that desperation should lead to them engaging in all sorts of wild and entertaining shenanigans.

Mixing an R-rated comedy with child actors has worked wonders in the past too (like with Role Models) and with a kid as talented as Tremblay at the centre, Good Boys has the perfect anchor to carry its story forward.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
