10 Completely Original Movies To Look Out For In 2019

8. Six Underground

Ryan Reynolds Criminal
Summit Entertainment

Release Date: TBA 2019

The last couple of years has seen Netflix progress from being a simple streaming service to producing some of the year's biggest shows and movies all on their own. Because of high-quality fare like Stranger Things, Daredevil, Beasts Of No Nation and Gerald's Game, Netflix Original projects are now massive entertainment events, and Ryan Reynolds' Six Underground is possibly their biggest yet.

The movie will revolve around six billionaires who fake their own deaths, joining together to form a criminal-busting team. Joining Reynolds in the cast will be Ben Hardy, Dave Franco, Mélanie Laurent and Corey Hawkins, a diverse and funny group of actors that should be an absolute joy to watch as they trade barbs and dodge bullets.

With a team consisting of director Michael Bay (Armageddon, Bad Boys), writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland, Deadpool) and star-man Reynolds, the project sounds like it's going to be an absolute blast to watch, with Bay's big-budget explosion-porn combined with Reese and Wernick's witty, hilariously crude writing, and Reynolds' sharp delivery.

Sometimes, a light, enjoyable ride is all you want from a movie. With this premise, this cast and this crew, you're guaranteed to get that here.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
