10 Cool Scenes Cut From Tim Burton's Batman Movies

7. Commissioner Gordon Flashback - Batman

Poor Commissioner Gordon didn’t get much to do throughout the original run of Batman movies; he was mainly there to turn on the bat signal when a villain was getting up to no good. So it's a shame the a flashback from original script for Batman where Gordon was revealed the first cop on the scene following the murder of Bruce’s parents was cut.

In the final movie, there’s a photo showing young Bruce holding onto a police officer, who is meant to be Gordon. Alfred reminds Bruce of this during the first act, which is what motivates him to save Gordon during the scene in Axis Chemicals.

The story doesn’t suffer for losing this subplot, but it would have helped flesh out Gordon and Batman’s relationship to him some more. This was eventually used for Batman Begins, where young Gordon is seen comforting Bruce after the attack.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
