10 Cool Scenes Cut From Tim Burton's Batman Movies

Marlon Wayans had a disappointing time with the Batman franchise. He was cast to play Robin in Batman Returns during pre-production, and even attended costume fittings for the part. Ultimately the script had too many characters, so Robin was taken out.

In the Returns script, he was a young mechanic who helps repair the Batmobile after the Penguin’s attack, then later takes the wheel to help Batman out of trouble, complete with a spiffy new Robin outfit. It would have been fun to see Burton’s take on the character, even if the film didn’t necessarily require his appearance.

Things only get more complicated. Wayans was supposed to feature in Batman Forever after this, only to be dropped again when Warner Bros wanted a bland white dude instead. The actor was still paid for both movies despite not shooting a frame of footage for them, which is nice work if you can get it really.
