10 Craziest Ways Horror Movie Characters Have Returned From The Dead

1. Event Horizon - Bought Back By A Sentient Hellish Spaceship

"Infinite space, infinite terror" was the tagline of 1997's Event Horizon. And that was indeed the case for the characters at the centre of Paul W.S. Anderson's movie.

Right from the get-go, there's a sense of uncertainty towards to Sam Neill's Dr Billy Weir, and any suspicions about the character are proved completely justified by the time the picture comes to a close.

The main antagonist of Event Horizon, of course, is the Event Horizon vessel. A sentient spaceship that is a portal to Hell, the Event Horizon torments and terrifies its crew with gnarly hallucinations and calculated suggestions. Possessing Neill's Weir was bad enough from the Event Horizon, yet this demonic ship goes one further and actually brings Weir back to life in the film's closing moments.

Event Horizon is a movie that largely tends to be a prime example of style over substance, particularly as the film progresses, but it's definitely a memorable offering thanks to the actions of the eerie, maniacal spaceship at the core of the film.

And to think, director Anderson opted against helming 20th Century Fox's first X-Men movie in favour of tackling Event Horizon instead.
